The holiday bazaar was breathtaking
The holiday bazaar raised so much money for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, and was generously put on by the Kids Making Miracles club.
The holiday bazaar took place Saturday the 10th of December and if you weren’t there you missed out. There were a plethora of vendors selling all sorts of goodies, figurines, and beautiful jewelry. All of the proceeds to the raffle and the spots the vendors bought went to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
The event was put on by the Kids Making Miracles club. They worked incredibly hard to make this event possible for the community. Cassidy Yourg added, “A lot of work went into it, from getting the vendors to advertising to make sure that the vendors had customers.”
This event not only was a great opportunity for vendors to sell their products and help raise money for Doernbecher, but it also created a great sense of community. The bizarre brought people together from all over the community, and really represented what the holiday season is about. People were smiling, laughing, and spreading joy.
Many students at Wilsonville High School came and volunteered to make sure everything ran smoothly. Volunteer Ezra Oesterreich said, “I volunteered to help my community and bring them closer together.” Oesterreich worked with the kids and helped them to make letters for the holidays. There were a variety of crafts for the children to do while parents shopped. Even Santa Claus showed up to say hi.
Overall, the event was a great success and the Kids Making Miracles club raised so much money for the Hospital. It also created a wonderful representation of what the holiday season really means to people.
