After a tough start to the season, the Wildcat boys basketball team is finally playing like the high level team they are. The Wildcats, now 10-6, acquired all of their losses during a tough preseason filled with tough 6a teams and national talent. They got through their lumps and now are looking much stronger as they fight their way through the NWOC. The Cats have won six straight against league opponents, most of these wins being fairly handily. Their first league win came on the road against a sharpshooting Milwaukie team. Led by seniors Caleb Larsen and Zac Rossetti, the Wildcats imposed their will and won 78-36. The next five games had a similar theme. After four more convincing wins, the cats rolled into La Salle to take on a team with  a 3-1 league record. Led by 6’9” post Tabor Bosco and junior perimeter threat Jace Norton, the Falcons had a similar preseason story as the Wildcats. Tough teams and a new core of players led to the Falcons losing most of their preseason games, but they pulled it together in league, winning their 3 out of their first 4 matchups. The Wildcats came out victorious against the Falcons with a score of 47-38. This  brought their league record to 5-0.

Looking forward to the rest of the season, the Wildcats strive to hold off the rest of the league and go undefeated for the second time in NWOC history, last years Wildcats doing it for the first time. To do this they will have to continue to show off their high powered offense and passing, as well as stick to their defensive fundamentals that have helped them win two State Championships in a row. Focusing one game at a time, with a State championship as the overarching goal, the Wildcats look to continue to win as they close out league and look to make a playoff push.
