Wilsonville boys lacrosse scored a massive win against Tigard’s varsity lacrosse this week. Wilsonville scored 14-6 against the Tigers in an absolute landslide game. As the season wraps up before summer starts, we wanted to look back on Tuesday’s game and some others to see how things look ahead.

Wilsonville boys lacrosse has had quite the season in league this year. Wilsonville started off great with three wins against Hillsboro, South Ridge, and Eugene. In all three of those games, Wilsonville won by massive point differentials. We beat Hillsboro 17-0, South Ridge 11-5, and Eugene 11-8.

Things, unfortunately, began to turn against Wilsonville after the first week. The Wildcats then lost three games in a row after they won three. The three losses were tight games but Wilsonville ultimately lost to Beaverton High School, Mountainside High School, and West Salem High School. These losses were, fortunately, the worst stint the Wildcats had this season.

After those three losses, the Wildcats won three more games. The first win was against West Albany High School 13-9, then the Ida B. Wells team 6-3, and the latest win has been against Tigard where the Wildcats scored a whopping 14-6.

The latest match against Tigard was an absolute success for the Varsity team here at Wilsonville. While the majority of the points were scored in the second half of the game; the Wildcat varsity offense really pulled through. With the mix of incredible offense and strategic defense, the season ahead looks bright.

After the first game, we interviewed two of the players for the lacrosse team, Noah Lubisich, and Gavin Wadell. When asked about his general thoughts on the game Noah Lubicisch said, “It was a great game and the team played phenomenal. The defense did good and Ty Smith was doing an outstanding job on face-offs.” After that, we did the follow-up interview with Gavin. When asked about the team’s performance this year Gavin Wadell said, “There had been a couple of games that we just did not prepare the best for and that’s why we lost. We definitely have talent and the coaching to win every game we play the rest of the season depends on how much we want it.”

We have had a great season this year and some real talent has been proven this year. We cannot wait to see how the rest of the season plays out
