After a commanding win on the road against Liberty to start off the season, Wilsonville frosh-soph kept things rolling as they put up 31 points on the Westview defense in front of the home crowd.
For Wilsonville, they found success on the offensive side of the ball in the first half scoring 3 times finding Luke Carli in the end zone on a throw from Trevor Glos. The Wilsonville Wildcats found the endzone 3 times in the first half and 3 in the second half and also hit one singular extra-point attempt after being denied by the Westview defense 4 times.
On the defensive side of the ball, Wilsonville found major success by not allowing Westview to find the end zone once in the first half. In addition, after a forced fumble from Luke Crowley in the first half Wilsonville saw the ball in their hands for most of the game.
In the second half, Wilsonville QB Trevor Glos had to exit the game with a concussion. However, the Cats found themselves scoring just as much in the second half as Sophomore Luke Carli came in and attempted his first pass of the season and ended up hitting Ashden Marquis for a 60-yard touchdown to go up 24-0 over Westview.
Westview could not find any success on the offensive side of the ball. Freshman Cohen Trump, running back, hit on a few 10-yard runs here and there, but that was the only spark to be seen from the Westview offense.
Hopefully, this Wilsonville team can keep things rolling this week against Tualatin. With their quarterback still out, Luke Carli will need all the help he can get. “Should be fun, all I want to do is win I will do whatever they need or ask,” Luke Carli says about the upcoming game.
In the previous year, Wilsonville lost to Tualatin in a heartbreaking defeat, so the rematch at home will be a great early-season test for both teams.
