Graduating seniors awarded department awards

On Tuesday, our WVHS seniors spent their last few hours as high schooler students by doing a ton of fun activities. The seniors got to school at 8:30 for their last morning spent in the Pointe, and then went to their first three periods.

The class of 2018 then enjoyed their last lunch at school with a great barbeque put on by ASB, and Mr. Deeder and Coach Nicks helped grill up hot dogs and hamburgers. Seniors got to take pictures with their friends. “We had a really good team grilling again. Its an annual event for Deeder, Eckman and I.” said Coach Nicks. “ It was a beautiful day, and we had a lot of fun. I can’t wait to do it again next year!”

After lunch, the  seniors headed to an assembly where teachers were going to give out some department awards. Below is a list of the winners:

For example, the Athletic awards are decided upon by the head coaches, who all sit down face to face and talk about students who meet all of the specific criteria, and then they work on finalizing their decisions. They then pick their final choices to be given out at the assembly.

Congratulations to our class of 2018! We are sad to see you go, but excited to see what you will become.
