Wilsonville Younglife takes the ranch

Wilsonville Younglife

Campers wear their best outfits for fancy night. They prepare for club this coming year.

On July 13, 45 high school students and nine leaders met at Wilsonville High School. They loaded the bus and headed off for the best week of their lives- even if they didn’t know it at the time. The drive was about three and a half hours to a town called Antelope. Once you get to Antelope, you begin to head down a gravel road leaving behind all cell phone reception for the next seven days. At the bottom of that gravel road you reach a place called Washington Family Ranch- Oregon’s Younglife camp. That’s where the fun began.

Once you get off the bus you are instantly greeted by some of your lovely work crew staff who will serve you for your week at camp. Senior Karleigh Goertz describes it as “The most excited I’ve been in while and already felt fullYLoved.” Her favorite memory at camp this year was “Either having cabin time and getting super close with all the girls or the messy war games because it was super gross and we were laughing the whole time.” This was Karleigh’s first year attending Younglife camp with Wilsonville, as she just transferred here.

Cameron Forsberg is also a senior at Wilsonville and this was his third year going to camp. The past two years Cameron went to Malibu which is the Younglife camp in Canada. “This year at camp was very different compared to last year- it was a new location and a lot of new faces- it combined for a great week,” Cameron told us.
