The Springfest Finale
There were five sets of partners that ran for Springfest Court and Springfest Royalty. The teams were as follows:
Team Sassamine: Sasha Nagy and Jasmine Brown
Team Elkey: Berkeley Reents and Ella Milanovich
Team Republic Services: Harrison Halstead and Gedde McKnight
Team Sugar & Spice: Venecia Gonzalez and Max Werner
Team Wildkratz: Kai Guertin and Ruby Windsheimer
After the court introduction, a final game was played before the whole school. During this game, the pairs faced off at a table, attempting to flip and land a cup right side up and then race over to hit a buzzer. They then would have to name the movie signified by a series of projected emojis.
The first contestant to complete the aforementioned series of events and come up with the correct movie title would win that round. Several rounds were played, and the competition was fierce! After the game, the assembly moved to the variety acts component.
50% of Springfest pairs’ total scores came from the games played over several weeks, and the other 50% came from the talent portion.
Students at Wilsonville were asked to vote on which pair they believed had the best performance. A combination of the students’ opinions and the scores from the games played would determine who won the title of “Springfest Court Royals.”
The Leadership II class put together a paper airplane competition in which all of the classes would compete.
The first-place winner gets the first pick of AirPods, Hydro Flask bottle, Pickleball set, or JBL speaker.
Not only would the representatives compete for a chance to win a personal prize, but the grand champion would also win a popsicle party for their Life Class.
Each grade level would compete against itself, starting with the 9th grade. The top two winners from each grade level will advance to the final round. In the final round, the flyers of the top four planes will get to select a prize.
Team Sassamine won Episodes 1, 2, and 3 and was awarded the “Best in Show” trophies.
Team Wildkratz had the best feel-good moments and was awarded the “Best in Feels” trophy.
Team Sugar & Spice was awarded the “Best Matched Set” award.
Team Republic Services, for giving the most laughs, received the “Best in Comedy” trophy.
Team Elkey exhibited the best gamesmanship, and they got the “Best in Game” trophy.
Harrison Halstead and Gedde McKnight were the winning duo of the Springfest Season. Even though they entered the day ranked fourth out of five teams, the team came out on top.
Upon their announcement, the crowd went wild, cheering and giving the two a standing ovation. Congratulations to Team Republic Services on your victory!
