Link crew is here to help incoming freshman
Back to school can be stressful for anyone, but it can be terrifying for freshman; A brand new school, brand new teachers, and brand new faces.
The transition from from middle school to high school can be daunting, but that’s where our Link Crew leaders come in. Link Crew is a program at our school that helps the incoming freshmen feel comfortable at Wilsonville High School. Our Link Crew leaders help to run freshman orientation and back to school night, in order to make all of the new students feel welcome here.
I spoke to senior Grace Yaso about why she decided to join Link Crew, “Freshman year I was really nervous, and I wanted them to have a smooth transition into high school.” All of the Link Crew leaders are here to help, so if at anytime you’re feeling nervous, don’t be afraid to reach out to one of them. Yaso went on to share the best piece of advice that she received as a freshman: “Get involved, and don’t be afraid to talk to your teachers, that’s what they’re here for.”
As the school year moves forward don’t be afraid to reach out to your Link Crew leaders. And mark your calendars because they will be holding Cocoa and Cram, an evening study session, in january to prepare the freshman for their very first finals week.
