Wilsonville’s night meet through the lens
Wilsonville hosted their annual cross country night meet last Friday. With over 50 schools and 2,000 athletes, the atmosphere is like no other.

Visitors and supporters pack the opposite stands, prepping for the night meet’s start. With the heat looming around 85 degrees, to meet kick-off was much anticipated. (

As the runners get ready to leave the track and head over to the baseball fields, the fans create an ecstatic atmosphere with cheers and clapping. (

The finish line is set up before the runners take the track. Thanks to the helpers and behind-the-scene work, the meet ran very smoothly. (

The girl’s Varsity starts the first of their races. Each race starts at the starting line, and ends at the West-end zone. (

The girls’ 3 kilometer race starts with a long trek ahead of the finish line. Gabrielle Palmer out of Cleveland posted a 13:29:37 coming in first. (

The first leg of the of the 3-kilometer race starts. Usually, racers pace themselves, starting close together, and later separating by pace and endurance, which often shapes a clear winner, (even early in the race). (
