“I define myself as a dedicated and hard working inside of school and out, I guess. Inside of school, um, I’m determined to do well because I think it’s important that you try your hardest so that when you get to college you already have a foundation and so that you can work hard Outside of school for um, for shooting because I’m dedicated to my sport and I think it’s really important to, um, keep up with something and not quit. I really got into shooting because of my sister. My sister started shooting in seventh grade, and then when I was in seventh grade she said, ‘You should do it,’ and I said, ‘Okay!’ So I went to my first practice and never stopped. I’ve learned that I appreciate what you can learn from shooting, not just like obviously how to shoot but like how to be a better person because of the community that shooting gives you. I think this is since the coaches expect a lot from you and, um, your attendance and your determination, it.. It’s kinda… like okay; one of their main goals as coaches is to make you have more discipline with yourself in shooting and outside of shooting. They want this because when you have discipline in yourself you’re more capable of doing your best. And this has definitely translated into my school. I mean I’m still working on having better time management, that’s like the whole discipline thing. I’m just trying to have better discipline in myself for getting my homework done when it needs to be done. Obviously it’s always done before the due date, but like when I should get it done. Like before before. Like with my time management I always wait till the last minute so I guess that’s something I’m working on like disciplining myself always, not just when I have to for the due date. So I guess that’s just an overall like huge part in defining me and what I’m working on in myself.”

“I am most passionate about gymnastics and I would say that because I spend at least five days a week at the gym if not … wait I do spend five days a week at the gym. Okay I spend five days a week at the gym. It’s kind of like a hobby or like the sport I chose myself so it’s very like personally like me, I guess? Cause like, when I was younger, I used to swim but I ended up quitting cause I kind of like got burnt out. But like every time I feel like I’m like starting to get burned out of gymnastics I like get to try a new skill or like I get to work through something, and it makes me a better gymnast. And even through like injuries, like I broke my toe twice, um, even through injuries like it’s always kinda been like my place. Like I had this big break off of gymnastics and the whole time I was still sitting at the gym with my cast or like with my crutches just wishing that I could do something. I just feel like gymnastics really shapes me honestly. I just, like, everything that I like think about, I kinda tie it back to gymnastics in a way. Like it helps with my time management because it really like takes up a lot of time, and I also have a job, and school obviously, so it’s really balancing out my time. And then honestly just like working through my like mental processes because its a very like, although it is very like physically challenging like you need to be really strong, but you also really need to be mentally strong because you have to like do tumbling backwards and like you have to like work through like all, like you have to think through each skill one by one and so just understanding myself mentally. And it really helps my time management.”
