Football tailgate: Wilsonville style
September 10, 2018
In years past we have had a back to school dance. This is normally following the first home football game of the new school year. Last year it was held in the aux gym and the year before that it was held on the baseball field. A lot of students have been wondering when that is going to happen. Well, this year it’s not. Leadership and Class Councils have decided to do away with the back to school dance. Leadership student McKina Stalheim said “It’s disappointing not having the back to school dance because it is taking a chance from the students by coming together for the first time this year.”
This year we are introducing a new thing! We are hosting a back to school tailgate instead. This will be Friday September 7, right outside the gym doors in the grass field. Each class has put on a booth with all sorts of things such as games and face painting. As well as those things there will also be a free BBQ to anyone who is interested. This is a great way to celebrate the new school year with your friends as well as get to know your teachers outside of the classroom setting. Teachers and their families have been invited to come help us support the football team and enjoy some free BBQ. McKina commented on the back to school tailgate by saying “I am super excited for the tailgate! I think it’s a good way to not only bring the high school together but, the Wilsonville community together.”For all you dance lovers– Don’t worry the dances will be back as we have homecoming September 29 and we are adding morp back into the line up.
