“For freshmen, the word I would use is unpredictable, because I just never know what my day is going to look like with their freshman energy. And for upperclassmen, I would say sophisticated, because we’re able to have deeper conversations.
The first one that comes to my mind is class sizes. So my classes in Salem were at [the] largest 38 students in a class, and at Wilsonville, I think my largest has been about 26, but the smallest class I’ve had is 14 students. So just more ability for me to connect with kids and be floating around the room easier.
I would say Wilsonville all the way. I miss my co-workers at West Salem, but I don’t miss a lot of things about West Salem, and Wilsonville has been super positive. I think a lot of teachers have goals to be an admin, but I don’t know if that’s kind of the route I want to take.
I really enjoy teaching freshmen with an elective of an upperclassman, so I don’t know. For future goals in this job, I want to keep doing what I’m doing, have fun with it. Be organized. Being organized would get you so far as a freshman and figure out kind of what works for you as far as organization goes and just study habits because it is very individualized per person. Have fun. Your life is very much about to start again as you graduate high school and I think a lot of graduating seniors feel the pressure to make these big decisions.
I would say take your time have fun and just think about your lifelong goals of who you want to be as you take the next step. I would say my husband and my dogs. I’m really enjoying the married life and yeah just being with my husband.”
