“I love playing basketball. Our varsity team has been together for a long time. A lot of us are juniors and seniors, so we’ve played together for multiple years. Traveling to away games and just spending time together have made us all really close friends. We all like each other, and we help motivate each other by showing up to practice and coming together every day. My family inspires me, as we’re all athletes and we all like to succeed in the athletic side of our lives. I think being around super competitive people makes me competitive as well. I was born in Utah, but I grew up mostly in southern California. My older sister, Olivia, is a professional soccer player for the Portland Thorns. When she was 13, she signed a Nike contract, so that brought us up here because we can’t just send a 13-year-old on her own, but we ended up finding a great place in Wilsonville and a great community. We really like the people we’re around, so we’re happy to be here. I think a lot of people see me as a very serious person, but I think I’m pretty funny sometimes. Once you get to know me, I feel like I can be pretty funny and lighthearted. I think my teammates get sick of me at practice sometimes. I jokingly talk to them or say stuff that makes them frustrated, but I think it’s hilarious. I’m committed to playing basketball at Utah Valley University, which I’m really excited for. I don’t know what I want a major in yet, but I like school and I like learning, so I bet whatever I do I’ll end up liking it.”
