“I define myself as a dedicated and hard-working inside of school and out, I guess. Inside of school, um, I’m determined to do well because I think it’s important that you try your hardest so that when you get to college you already have a foundation and so that you can work hard Outside of school for um, for shooting because I’m dedicated to my sport and I think it’s really important to, um, keep up with something and not quit. I really got into shooting because of my sister. My sister started shooting in seventh grade, and then when I was in seventh grade she said, ‘You should do it,’ and I said, ‘Okay!’ So I went to my first practice and never stopped. I’ve learned that I appreciate what you can learn from shooting, not just like obviously how to shoot but like how to be a better person because of the community that shooting gives you. I think this is because the coaches expect a lot from you and, um, your attendance and your determination, it.. It’s kinda… like okay; one of their main goals as coaches is to make you have more discipline with yourself in shooting and outside of shooting. They want this because when you have discipline in yourself you’re more capable of doing your best. And this has definitely translated into my school. I mean I’m still working on having better time management, that’s like the whole discipline thing. I’m just trying to have better discipline in myself for getting my homework done when it needs to be done. Obviously it’s always done before the due date, but like when I should get it done. Like before before. Like with my time management, I always wait till the last minute so I guess that’s something I’m working on like disciplining myself always, not just when I have to for the due date. So I guess that’s just an overall like huge part in defining me and what I’m working on in myself.”
