Are you a senior or a parent of a senior looking for financial aid? FAFSA is a family financial aid organization here to help all Wilsonville High School seniors heading to college. It will be held on Tuesday, January 14th, at 6 p.m. in the Point. There will be a presentation going over information regarding financial aid and the 2024-2025 FAFSA. Additionally, the presentation will be in both Spanish and English.
Wilsonville High School’s very own college and career coordinator, Mrs. Willard, shares some of what you can expect from FAFSA and the presentation held on the 14th. She says, “There will be presenters from one of the Oregon Organizations regarding student aid. They will present information on all different kinds of student aid, such as grants, loans, and scholarships. They will also dig deeper into this year’s FAFSA and how the application works, including how long you wait for responses.”
While you are looking over the application process there will be experts all around to help guide you through the steps. Feel free to reach out and get that extra support if you’re not ready to apply on your own. The most important part of the night is learning about what FAFSA has to offer and how it will help direct your path by working around financial aid.
Emma Fauth, a senior at Wilsonville High School has already applied for FAFSA. She comments, “Applying to FAFSA helps my universities know how much scholarships and financial aid I will get. It also helps me feel less stressed about college knowing that I signed up already.”
The process is fairly easy, and achievable for everyone, especially with the assistance from the Workshop portion of the night. Mrs. Willard and Olivia Perez Escalera, from the Office of Student Access and Completion (OSAC) will offer help to anyone who needs it. Make sure to check out FAFSA on January 14th at 6:00 pm to learn more about getting help with financial aid.
