Welcome to The Wildcast, a behind-the-scenes look at all the action happening at Wilsonville High School. Hosted by Jack Jensen, this student-run show dives into the stories of the students of Wilsonville and how they make our school unique.
The Wildcast looks to spotlight students you might see daily but never hear the full story behind concerning their involvement in the school. Whether it’s the yearbook team working late hours, broadcasters announcing games to online viewers, or performers behind our school’s biggest theater productions, The Wildcast brings their voices to the mic.
We’re not just covering the “what”—we’re digging into the “how.” What drives students to take on big responsibilities? What kind of challenges does one face, and what makes it all worthwhile in the end? We aim to use these audio stories as a way to celebrate students’ effort, teamwork, and passion behind these projects.
In this episode, we explore the yearbook staff editors, Delaney Collier and Joren Lundberg, and their experiences regarding the creation of this year’s yearbook.
Join us as we go through the creation of the book from start to finish, from the creation of the theme to submitting the book to the plant. The two provide their insights and what they’ve learned after leading a group and adjusting after a massive staff turnover—transforming a large, uneven group into a tight‑knit, motivated crew by the second semester—and how they balance creative design work and the challenges that come with overseeing every spread.
From late‑night editing sessions and photo selection to interviewing classmates for quotes and stories, Delaney and Joren show how the staff’s dedication, teamwork, and continuous effort allowed them to complete the hundreds of pages in the book before their deadline. Ultimately, their perseverance ensured that each page captured memories of the school year.
