The Wilsonville girls tennis team had a memorable and hard fought season with a 4-6-3 record!
Senior night, one of the hardest matches in league season, was one of the hardest matches of their league season, put the Wilsonville Wildcats up against Hood River. The girls tennis team lost 1-7, with their spotlight senior of the night Isabella Mendenhall, who never let up, despite the highly competitive players.
The night was more than just tennis; it was a celebration of the incredible journey taken by nine dedicated seniors: Jenna Campbell, Audrey Counts, Joren Lundberg, Gabby Maoz, Lilly Press, Isabella Mendenhall, Julia Tatsumi, Megan Whitt, and Mia Williams, who have worked hard all season and were finally able to celebrate their last home game of their high school career.
Each of these athletes contributed to the team chemistry and collaborative environment in unique ways. Whether they lead drills at practice, mentored younger teammates, or showed up with positive energy, they truly set a tone for the rest of the tennis team. Many younger and newer players can attest to the community that the seniors created and maintained throughout the duration of the season.
Coach Chase Eisenbrandt helped all season to prepare the girls to play against tough opponents, rounding them not only as talented players, but also as uplifting people and exemplary role models. With hard work and determination, the girls took the court knowing it was going to be a hard match, but gave it their all anyways just as they always do.
Their final home game was filled with cheers, hugs, and heartfelt goodbyes, a reflection of the close knit community they built over the years. Though the result of senior night wasn’t what the team hoped for, it helped prepare them for the off season and created amazing memories for the seniors.
The Wilsonville girls tennis team ended the season with pride and a bond that will last long after the final serve.
