Have no fear! The SAT prep class is here!
SAT prep classes begin at Wilsonville High School.
As the season turns to fall, one thing is on every upperclassman’s mind: the SAT. This daunting test, filled with hours upon hours of reading and math equations, is the fate of every upperclassman. However, this intimidating test does not have to be tackled alone! Wilsonville High School provides a class yearly that helps students prepare for the exam.
The class began on Sunday, September 23rd. The reading and writing portion was taught by Ms. Hanlon, who teaches freshman, sophomore, and AP English 12 for seniors at Wilsonville High School. Mr. Fowler, who teaches AP Calculus at Wilsonville, aides students with the math portion of the test. Both teachers give students helpful tools to use on exam day, which will lessen the immense amount of pressure and make the tests much more clear for the students.
Isaac Boger, a senior at Wilsonville High School, stated the SAT prep class was helpful for him because, “the math class with Fowler and his shortcuts for math problems helped me to finish them under the time constraints.” His advice to students taking the class now is to “do the homework from the class! Even if you don’t feel like it’s helping you, you’ll really see it pay off on the test.” Senior Zoe Lyons advises students to show up to the class on time to make the most of the time spent in class preparing for the exam.
As the test date draws closer and closer, Mr. Fowler and Ms. Hanlon are available to help students prepare for the difficult exam. Hopefully, people will take advantage of this class and get the help that they need.
