Girls soccer dominate final non-league game in Forest Grove on 9/25

Pre-game stretch with captain Teagan McNamee

Count that as another win for the Lady Cats! In their final preseason game away at Forest Grove last night the Cats dominated in a 5-0 shutout to close out the remains of their non-league matches. After tough loss in Canby, the Wildcats were craving a win, and let me tell you, they got just that.

The game play started off slow, however the Cats amped up the energy with their team cheering them on from the side shouting “Rally”.

Freshman midfielder; Karina Borgen earned her first goal of the season as well as put the Cats on the board for the lead 1-0 during the first half. Borgen really sparked the intensity through the team on and off the field, making them hopeful of another win to add on their record.

With all eyes on her (including a scout), Teagan McNamee claimed her goal on a loose ball rolling around the eighteen. Putting a light touch on it, the ball found its way to the back of the net… But wait, that’s not all! Following Teagan’s goal was junior mid, Araxi Martinez with her beautiful shot securing a fairlead of 3-0. But, wait again! McNamee was ready to prove her skill once more and scored yet again another goal impressing not only Wilsonville fans, but Forest Grove’s as well.

Scoring the last goal of the game was none other than star center, Lindsey Antonson. Post fifth goal, the bench was heavily rotated allowing all players to play in the final twenty minutes on the clock.

Closing out preseason with a record of two wins and six loses, the Lady Cats are more than prepared to dominate in league games starting next Tuesday versus Scappoose. See you at Randall stadium at 7 on 10/2.
