Error Code Xero competes in Sacramento

Wilsonville/West Linn take bus to California to compete in a big robotics event.

Last weekend, the Wilsonville and West Linn robotics team, Error Code Xero, took a ten hour bus trip just west of Sacramento, California. Tristan Cavarno, robotics team lead, that the team went down there to compete in an off season event organized by some California robotics teams. The competition consisted of the same competition from the previous year known as “First Power Up!”

Tristan reports that Error Code Xero took the lengthy trip to get the name out in the community but also to get the subteams more practice before the season. He says that Error Code Xero dominated a ton of matches all day the first day. On the second day, the robotics team was picked by the Davis Senior High School team and 2015 world champs, the Citrus Circuits, for the final round of elimination. Wilsonville’s Error Code Xero was doing great until eliminated by the Cheesy Poofs, San Francisco bay robotics team and 2018 Huston world champions, with a rough score of 0-2. While they sadly yet understandably lost, Error Code Xero feels like they had a successful competition down South and is glad to get more play time in before the start of 2019.

For the rest of the preseason, Tristan talks of the Catlin Gabel hosted Bunny Bots competition coming on December 22nd. Up until the start of the season the team is focusing on training and building this year’s leadership and the team’s skills in “ball manipulation.” This robotics season should be very exciting and should have a very intense, new competition.
