The Trail Blazers warm up at the Moda Center before the game begins

Last week, the NBA was full of chaos as the trade deadline came to the end. Many different teams including the hometown Portland Trail Blazers were very active at the deadline.

On February 4th, the Blazers made their first deal in which they sent guards Wade Baldwin IV and Nik Stauskas along with two second round picks to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for forward Rodney Hood. Rodney Hood should bring another guy who can space the floor for Lillard and McCollum, but we will have to wait and see how he plays after the break.

Junior, Ally Finkbeiner, says that she likes the deal for Rodney Hood because he is a good third scoring option. In addition, he has played well for the Blazers so far and he seems to fit the system.

In the second deal, the Blazers traded big man Caleb Swanigan to the Sacramento Kings for Skal Labissiere. This deal will have very little impact on the Blazers as Labissiere will play very little.

In the third and final move for the Blazers, they beat out multiple other teams to sign Enes Kanter who is a former center on the New York Knicks. Enes Kanter was averaging 14ppg and 10rpg for the New York Knicks. Enes should provide some rebounding, but he is a terrible defender which is a major drawback.

However, Finkbeiner likes the Kanter pick up because she says that he should provide some consistency in the frontcourt.

The player with the biggest impact on the court will be Hood because is a reliable three point shooter who should space the floor and hit shots. In his four games for the Blazers, Hood is averaging 10 ppg and shooting 50% from three. On the other hand, Labissiere will have very little impact, and Kanter could quite possibly have a negative impact due to his selfishness and lack of defense.
