Reminder: OSAC due March 1st

The Office of Student Access and Completion, also known as OSAC, application deadline is approaching. That’s right the Oregon scholarship application that allows you to apply for up to 40 scholarships at once is due March 1st. The application has been open for a few months now but students have been busy, so it’s no surprise that his deadline crept up on people.

Don’t worry, if you’re not done filling out all of the information there’s still time the application isn’t due until 5 pm. However, submitting any later isn’t an option.

OSAC covers a wide variety of scholarships including merit-based, need-based, and some career-based scholarships are available as well. Some scholarships opportunities like the Ford Scholars offer financial awards based on a variety of things including your FAFSA, GPA, and response to a short essay question. Others, like the West Johnson and Elizabeth Johnson Lasselle scholarship, only require your FAFSA and allot money based on if you qualify based on financial need.

I know many seniors who have been working hard to earn these scholarships including senior Grace Yaso, who filled out her OSAC and submitted it last week, “I applied to a scholarship that has to do with my major and some that were for people who lived in this county.”

To all the seniors out there who have been working hard to get these applications turned in, if you haven’t pressed submit yet: this is your reminder!
