Baseball vs Scappoose
In the last week of the regular season the boys go out with a bang. The three game series against Scappoose was bittersweet for the team and the seniors for they have finished their last high school regular season and possibly have played their last home game as a Wildcat.
In game one the cats hosted the Indians and junior Braden Woodworth started on the mound. Woodworth threw six innings and had five strikeouts and only two walks. Senior shortstop Trevor Antonson was on fire at the plate for the cats. He went three for three with two doubles. In a close game the cats stayed on top with a 4-3 lead at the end
The boys got on the bus to Scappoose the next day. They were able to get ahead early on the Indians with a 6-0 lead in the third. The cats had twelve hits and seventeen RBI’s which was lead by senior Nolan Thebiay going three for four with a home run and a double. The cats clinched another win 19-0.
Game three was Senior Night for Wilsonville and it was just how the seniors wanted to go out at home. Junior Andrew Classen started on the bump for that cats and threw five innings and had six strikeouts. With a close game in the fifth the cats lead only 4-3. In the bottom of the sixth with bases loaded senior Trevor Antonson hit a grand slam to move the cats to a 8-3 lead. As his last at bat at home this senior went out in the best way he could.
