Homecoming voting and how it works
September is one of the busiest months of the school year. It is the beginning of school which means Friday night football, and homecoming!
Homecoming is a pretty big deal at Wilsonville High School. Homecoming weekend is kicked off by the annual homecoming assembly, which is usually a big pep talk for the big weekend by Coach Guenther. At the assembly we also find out who is on the homecoming court.
This past week, students were able to vote for two people in their grade to take place on the court.
The voting process takes about a week. The voting process goes as follows — all the votes are counted up by ASB/leadership and find the couple to represent the grade. The rest of the student body finds out on the day of the assembly, which this year it is on September 20th.
In the past, the more serious voting happens during Springfest, but for homecoming is a little little less formal compared. But that just brings out the fun in Homecoming. Check back next week to see who is on this year’s court!
