Wilsonville choir 2019

The choir sings the National Anthem at hoco.

This year Wilsonville High School has five choirs, Soul’d Out, Symphonic, Bella Forte, Cantus and Chamber choir.

Every choir participates in a wide number of activities including festivals, concerts, and workshops. The first choir concert of the year is on October 23rd and includes all five of the choirs. Soul’d Out will compete at ICHSA, a Bend A Cappella Festival, a Rose City Sing-Off and so many more!

Wilsonville High School is hosting league this year! That means the choir will be helping the other schools get around, providing water and comfort to the judges. Along with this, our Symphonic choir will also be competing at league for a chance to go to state. The other three choirs are doing a league training festival so they can be prepared for next year.

The Symphonic Choir is also doing a beach retreat to the Twin Rocks Friends Camp. This is when they will get their music for league and start working on it. Symphonic member Siona Olson said “ I’m really excited to be able to meet the new members of our choir and be able to create new memories with them. We also do this candle ceremony where we each get a secret buddy and you buy them a candle and you will say something nice or a memory with them and then give them the candle. It just really brings us closer as a choir and as a family!”

The Wilsonville Symphonic Band with also be going with the choir and having their retreat as well. The band and choir also work on their winter concert music at the retreat. It looks like it’s going to be a fun and exciting year for the wildcat choirs!
