Regionals
It’s time for regionals! Every year the Wilsonville High School drama department takes multiple musical numbers and a bunch of acting scenes. There will be one large group that can be up to 16 people, two small groups consisting of three people and five people, four duets and a bunch of soloists. The auditions for regionals are on Friday the eleventh. Ari Lauthner said “My favorite part would be the combination of the competitive aspect with the community that it builds between schools and individual people and inside the school and in your group number your create unforgettable bonds with those people specifically”
Regionals is a competition where you compete against other schools in the area. This year’s regionals will be at Rex Putnam High School. It’s a full-day event where each scene performs two times in front of two different judges. The judges score the scenes on acting transitions, characterization, singing technique, singing expression, movement/dance, and execution. You also can watch other scenes while you’re not performing. At the end of the day, the judge’s ad up your final score. The best scenes then go one to state and compete against other winners.
