Mark your calenders for the Oregon Leadership Summit on January 14th. It will be a great opportunity to learn more about policy making and help draft a bill.

Last month, COSA, OASSA, OASC, REAP, and ODE hosted an Oregon Students United Kick-Off and informational Session to raise up the voices of the students in our state. Throughout the session, students planned and prepared for their upcoming leadership summit planned to take place on January 14th from 4:30-6:00pm.

In this upcoming event, students will be able to come together to share their thoughts on the educational leadership and connect with students across the country via zoom. Additionally, the students will have the opportunity to learn more about policy making in relation to the educational system as well as learn about the draft bill for Racial Justice and Equity Student Leadership Council.

Wilsonville High School Principal Kelly Schmidt describes this event, “This seems like an opportunity for students to use their voice, advocate and make a positive impact on the direction of education for students in Oregon.” She encourages students to attend and learn more about how the educational system works and the positive changes that students can create.

Oregon students between the ages of 12-21 are welcome to register. Registration for the summit can be accessed here and is required before January 13th.
