Snow fall above average for this year in Oregon’s Cascade Mountains.

During this pandemic people have searched long and far for things to get involved in. With many sports being shut down and gyms closed once again, one of the last things left is the ski resorts.

Living in Oregon, one of the major passions for many are winter sports. With the state’s constant rainfall in the winter, it forces Oregonians to find things to do in the mountains. Luckily, Mt. Hood is a close drive, providing lots of fun for winter sports lovers.

Mt. Hood Meadows and Timberline combined are the largest and most popular ski resorts in Oregon. On an average year, Mt. Hood Meadows will receive a total of 430 inches and an average snow pack of 80 inches at the base. This year we have a base depth of over 50 inches already with many months left to go.

Generally the best time to ski is in February and late January, these months boasting the most skiable terrain. With the amount of snow there is currently and if  momentum is maintained, Oregonians may be able to ski much into this spring.
