Wildcats Baseball Shut Out St. Helens!
The Wilsonville Wildcats baseball team shut out the St. Helens Lions tonight. The Wildcats came into the night 1-1 in league play and the Lions were 0-4.
The game started off slow with neither pitcher giving up any hits or runs. This changed in the third inning, where the Wildcats scored 5 runs and nearly went through their full batting order.
Other than this inning there weren’t many eventful moments except fr an absolute bomb by St. Helens’ short stop Kaleb Edwards. This occurred in the 7th inning and was launched about 320 feet towards the left field, bouncing off of the wall back into play. However, the Lions weren’t able to get much going throughout the game, partially due to Jack Kimball’s pitching and Max Bledy’s throws from behind the plate to catch stealing runners.
Wilsonville will look to recreate this when they visit St. Helens on Monday.
