Wilsonville slows down the pace, tactical approach does not pay off
Wilsonville drops one 11-5 against Oregon Episcopal School
From Randall Stadium on this Tuesday night, the Wildcats came out with a vengeance after winning a season-defining victory over the Lake Oswego Lakers. On this night it would not quite be that memorable.
In 5 minutes the Wildcats scored two goals to lead 2-0. At this point, they looked nearly unstoppable against the sluggish OES squad. The tables turned quickly thereafter, with Episcopal School scoring 7 unanswered in twenty minutes to take a 7-2 lead into the half-time intermission.
The Wildcats were severely in need of significant adjustments in order to come back in this contest. They were firing on all cylinders early when they drew even at 3-3 in the second half, bringing to total to 10-5. This was the closest they would get before OES netted 1 to win 11-5.
The stars of the game for OES were Anna Blake Patrick who played exquisitely in goal, Cameron Gabrielson who scored goals, and Ellie Riser who was integral on defense.
For Wilsonville, it was Avery Lanz carrying the goal torch, alongside Maura Schramm who won many face-offs, and Fiona Dunn who passed the ball precisely.
