Choir director Annie Kubitschek leads symphonic. The March 21st concert was a huge success.

On March 21st, Wilsonville High School hosted their annual spring choir concert lead by Annie Kubitschek. The concert featured mens, womens, concert and symphonic choirs as well as Soul’d Out. The groups performed a few new songs that they have been working on in the past few months followed by a large group piece including all choirs.
Women’s choir began the concert with La Violette, featuring two singers playing drums and the triangle. The rest of the choir filed on stage through the aisles, singing as they went. After filing onstage, they then filled the auditorium with Johnny Has Gone For a Soldier. To end their set, women’s choir and Miss. Kubitschek sang an a cappella arrangement of Take Me Home, originally performed by Pentatonix. Men’s choir then sang My Heart’s in the Highlands alongside women’s choir singing before women’s choir left the stage.
Men’s choir then began their set with Eileen Aroon, an Irish Folk Song arranged by Ron Jeffers, followed by In Umbra. Many soloists and Joseph Wilde’s beatboxing drew their last song, Good Life to a close. Cormac Lister, Daniel Lounsbury, Aldrix Povey, Cason Dougall, Kullen Whittaker, George Krecklow, and Christopher Alva took part in singing the melody of the song while the rest of men’s choir sang the instrumental.
Soul’d Out was next, performing their three-song set that they performed at ICHSA regionals in Eugene. First up was Green Garden, a contemporary pop song with soloist Madi Wilde. The upbeat opener was followed by Brother, the group’s ballad piece featuring Kalonni Smith as soloist. Michael Dart then soloed on Nothing Holding Me Back, the group’s pop song closer. These songs were accompanied by Joseph Wilde’s beatboxing and choreography constructed by Wilsonville High School alumni Hayden Wilde.
Concert choir took the stage next, opening with El Cielo Canta Alegria. Alice Kang played cello during the group’s next song, Heaven is Here Unfolding. Joseph Wilde added vocal percussion as Barbie Nelson, McKenzie Kegler, Dasha Jolly, Rhiannon Torango, Lila Durig, Katie Walter, Hadassah Benson, Mikaela Ochocki, and Joelle Harmitt sang solos on Stitches.
Symphonic choir filed onto stage after concert choir, singing Innoria, a short Huron dance song. O Magnum Mysterium was next, followed by Stillness and the Night. Madi Wilde played violin on Loosin Yelav, a traditional Armenian song. The group closed with Seinn O, a powerful, choreographed song. All choirs then sang Nda Wana together to end the concert. Featuring syncopated clapping and Joseph Wilde on djembe, Nda Wana was a positive, catchy way to end the concert. Afterwards, families visited in the commons, congratulating the singers and taking photos. Many hugs and positive comments filled the space as the night of music drew to a close.
