#6 Matthew Little runs past Angel Ulloa on his way back to defense

On Tuesday, October 9th, the boys soccer team traveled to La Salle to take on the undefeated Falcons. Despite of their tremendous effort, the Wildcats were defeated 2-0. When talking to midfielder Matthew Little about the game, he said that he felt like they played well for the whole first half and most of the second half.

Currently La Salle is perched atop the Northwest Oregon Conference standings which inspired the Cats because that is a place they desire to be. Little said, “We went into it with a different mindset than we normally do.” He continued saying that the mindset was a lot better against La Salle than it had been in previous games as they were giving it everything they had.

Despite the final result, there were some positives for the Cats. For instance, Little said, “The intensity we played with throughout the game” was a big positive for the team. In addition, Little said a lot of players stepped up such as Henry Tellez, Ryan McCord, and Sam Blohn.

After coming so close to defeating La Salle, Little said, “We could have beat them last night.” He explained that a focus of the team is to be undefeated. Finally, Little exclaimed that they can go far in the playoffs if the Cats continue to play together with intensity and hard work.
