As seniors prepare for their next chapter, some celebrate by going on an adventure. This trip is often with friends too have one more memory.

As the class of 2021 wraps up their last few weeks of high school and starts to figure out their plan for the fall, one thing seems to be looming overhead: saying goodbye to friends. Although some students have the luxury of going to the same college, most seniors will follow different paths leading them to different areas of the country.

Thus, it is common for friend groups to plan a senior trip, usually in the summer between their last year of high school and their first year of college. The idea is to have one last hooray, creating one more amazing memory to look back on.

Senior Lily Wright will be renting a house in Shasta for a week with her friends. Her plan is to jet ski and paddle board with her friends, as a way for them to have one last amazing memory and adventure before they set out to do their own things in life. Wright emphasized, “it’s important to make an effort to do fun things while you can because you’re only young once!”

In previous years it was common for groups to fly to their chosen destination, however as vaccines are still being distributed, some people are still cautious to travel. Whether seniors are having a senior trip or not, all are finding new ways to make this summer one to remember!
