Last week in Wilsonville Sports, many teams went at it across different sports. They all played hard and represented Wilsonville well! Here’s this weeks recap:

The boys soccer team only had one game last week as they tied with La Salle 0-0. La Salle is the current number 1 team in 5A, so this “tie” is sort-of seen as a mini win for the Cats. This was their league opener, which means every game from now on, until playoffs, will be against a familiar opponent. They move up one spot to number 3 in the rankings. 

Girls soccer also only had one game last week and it was against La Salle as well. They put it to them, winning commandingly 5-0, which has been the theme all season so far this team. Also their league opener, they look to continue their winning ways against league opponents. They stay number 1 in the rankings. 

The volleyball team extended their win streak to 4 with back to back wins over Putnam and Parkrose respectively. That makes 9 out of their last 10 matches ending with a W for the Cats. Already deep into league play, the number 8 ranked Wildcats look to continue their win streak at Hillsboro. They move up to number 8 in the rankings. 

The football team wins in blowout fashion once again as they squashed Forest Grove 54-0. This was their first shutout in two years. They led 47-0 at halftime and never looked back. Outscoring opponents 235-92, the Football boys remained undefeated into a “forfeit bye” week as St Helens had to cancel due to Covid. They remain number 1 in the rankings.
