Tristan Davis finishes a tackle in a dominant Wilsonville victory.

The Wilsonville Wildcats football team has been dominant as ever throughout the ’21 fall sports season. As of Thursday, October 28th, Wilsonville sits at 8-0 and ranked number 2 in the OSAA rankings.  Wilsonville has blown out most of the teams they have faced, however they have a couple close matchups against Pendleton and Scappoose.

The offense has been lead by stud QB Chase Hix and a dominant running game that doesn’t have a true lead back, rather leaning on multiple guys to carry the load. The offensive line have ruled over their opponents in the trenches, especially the last three games, where the OL has not given up a sack.

The defense has been very good as a unit, holding most teams to single digits or in the low double digits on most occasions. That squad is led by defensive lineman Tristan Davis, linebacker Nick Cooper, and Safety Jack Johnson. All three levels of the Wilsonville D has been stout this year and those three players have stood out the most on that side of the ball.

Wilsonville ends the regular season with a tough matchup against Canby. The winner of that one will have the knowledge that they won special district-2. This game has big implications on the seeding for the playoffs that start next week. Wilsonville sets its eyes on the main goal: to win a state championship. The season has been a success thus far but hopefully they can keep that up over the next few weeks.
