Wilsonville Girls Soccer hoisting the 5A state title. This came after their 4-2 win over La Salle.

Last week in Wilsonville Sports, many teams went at it across different sports. They all played hard and represented Wilsonville well! Here’s this weeks recap:

Girls Soccer are the Champions! They beat La Salle 4-2 led by NWOC player of the year, Lindsey Antonson’s hat trick. The number one and number two teams respectively in 5A battled it out in the game to decide the state champions. The Cats got out to an early 2-0 lead but the Falcons responded quickly making it a 2-2 tie heading to halftime. Eventually, it was the Cats defense and timely offense that led to the victory.

The Football team’s season was unfortunately cut short in the semifinals with a loss to Thurston. The Colts of Thurston opened the game with a long-methodical drive that led to a touchdown. And the Cats offense had trouble getting going. That was the game in a nutshell. Thurston held the Cats offense to only 14 points in the entire game, while the Colts put up 34 against the Cats defense. It was the first loss for the Cats since 2019. They had won 17 in a row. A great season ends early but still a year to be proud of.

Winter sports are about to begin! We will be covering Basketball, Swimming, and Wrestling.
