Wilsonville baseball in 2019 was going strong! We are excited to see how the season turns out for the Wildcats this year!

February 28th was the first day of official practice for track and field, baseball, golf, and tennis, with athletes jumping into the season right off the bat. The first official track and field meet is set for March 16th, a dual meet against West Linn. We asked our student-athletes how they feel about their first day of official practice.

“It was really good to get to see a massive wave of people come in. Being a distance runner won’t be able to spend the entire duration of practice with people who are doing different events, but they’re presence still brings a whole different aura to the team and gets me really motivated to run well,” said David Burt, sophomore track and field distance runner.

“With all that rainfall on the first day of golfing it made practice painful, it was kind of a weird first practice compared to normal as everyone bonded over a consensus on how annoying rain is in golfing,” Ryland Buksar, a sophomore golfer, said about his first practice.

Mason Weisgerber, a junior who runs distance track and field, added about track, “It was fun, we’ve been running a lot and now we have all of the other athletes doing other events. It keeps us company.”

With a rainy day for the first day of practices, we applaud the Wildcats for the grit they showed to get the work done. Wilsonville Broadcast Network is excited to cover every meet, game and event!
