Senior Grace Gatto pulls up for the three with the support of the student section. Wilsonville had an electric student section during our home games.

Wilsonville girls basketball had a fantastic season, finishing with an overall record of 19 wins and 7 losses. They won another NWOC title with a league record of 13 wins and 1 loss. The Wildcats, led by four seniors, finished being ranked #8 via OSAA. Their season came to a Round 1 loss to Crescent Valley.

Wilsonville received many league honors for the 2021 season. Senior Karina Borgen re

ceived First Team, sophomore Zoey Davis and freshman Audrey Counts received Second Team, freshman Payton Ratcliffe received Third Team, and Senior Grace Gatto received Honorable Mention. Borgen shared her thoughts on how she felt the season went. “The season went very well. Going into this season losing the seniors we did, you never really know what to expect. Everyone showed out and we worked well together and achieved great things.” The team worked so hard to better themselves and each other. “We improved throughout the season by consistently making little strides that ended in big changes,” Said Borgen.

Many younger kids stepped up and played a big role on the Wilsonville team. “This season went very well. We all learned lots of new things” said sophomore Kiera Easterly. The girls got to learn about each other and how they play. “We knew each other a lot more this year from playing together so we knew our strengths and weaknesses.” Said Easterly.

Overall these Wilsonville girls had a great season with lots of highs and lows. These Wildcats are looking forward to next season and are ready to work on their weaknesses and build up their strengths.
