The first game broadcasted live from Wilsonville High School in just short of a year proved to be an anti-climactic one. The Wildcats faced the rival La Salle Falcons in volleyball with approximately 25 fans bearing witness to the contest. The energy was palpable as the Cats jumped out to an early 8 point lead in set 1, winning this set and the ensuing one with little to no resistance. These efforts were largely based on the frontline defense by Wilsonville (Makenna Wiepert, Clarissa Klein, Ashli Edmiston) and the impeccable serving ability of Sophia Kleckner, Klein, and Sydney Bowen. Then the third set began in a troublesome way. With the Cats down by 6 points early, the leadership ability of the club’s seniors really showed through, leading them back to a tightly contested victory. Wilsonville wins their first game to move to 1-0 and will be back to play next in a few days!
