March 4th will be widely known as a special day for Wilsonville sports. In the boys soccer game the major headline was the rematch of the 2019 State Championship, a game that La Salle won 2-1. Additionally, the question became would Wilsonville be able to stick with a club who had been practicing together for 6 months. The answer came sooner than expected.

An emphatic yes.

A back and forth effort was broken up when Wilsonville’s premier  striker Adam Landy scored on a breakaway with 10 seconds left  in the half. Wilsonnville scored again 25 minutes into the second half by a host of Cats to take a 2-0 lead to the finish. However, La Salle managed to scrape together one goal past Chase Nelson to finish the game at 2-1. An incredibly hard fought battle will resonate through the league, clarifying that the Cats are here to stay. Wilsonville will try to improve to 2-0 next week on Tuesday when they play host to Rex Putnam
