Wilsonville sweeps Hillsboro

Wilsonville continues the success in league play and buckle down for the final month of the season.

With Wilsonville heading into yet another league series with only two total losses on the season and one former league loss, Wilsonville looked to keep dominating the NWOC.

With three games against the Hillsboro Spartans Wilsonville did just that, winning all 3 of their matchups. The first matchup took place at Ron Tonkin Field as Wilsonville won 8-1, off the back of a complete game one run gem from stud Keenan Sanford, “It felt really good to be on the mound I felt like my stuff was working and enjoyed the trust to be able to go the distance.”

After that beautiful outing from Sanford, Justin Schramm took the hill for the Cats as Wilsonville cruised to yet another victory this time 6-2 over the Spartans. The series finale also took place in Hillsboro as Wilsonville looked for yet another sweep on the season, a 6-3 victory this time would do the trick.

Keenan Sanford was complimentary of the bats during the whole series, “We found a way to get runs across with lots of selfless at-bats and getting guys in scoring position was huge for us.” With Hillsboro ranked 21st in 5A Wilsonville wanted a sweep over as the weather gets warmer the stakes start to rise heading into May.

With just a month left in the season, Wilsonville looks to keep dominating in the conference with a series against Milwaukie coming up followed by a series vs Putnam.
